I was up from the states, visiting Vancouver for a week in April, 2005. Of all the things I saw in Vancouver (a very cool place), the Templeton Cafe was the coolest of all! One Monday evening, I enjoyed excellent food and drink at a reasonable price, great and fun service from the waitstaff, very cool retro decor, interesting and friendly customers, a movie, and even three cute and friendly dogs at my feet. Templeton fact: The mountain/ocean mural on the end wall dates from the late 60's and was completed by Bruce Eriksen who sat on city council from 1980-1993.

Templeton fact: In 1934 the diner at 1087 Granville was Adele's cafe. In 1956 it was sold to Top Chef Cafe and in 1957 they renamed it to Top Tops. In 1996 it was sold and renamed to The Templeton.

Templeton fact: Awarded for outstanding achievement in 1997 from the heritage society of BC.

Templeton fact: The interior design has been preserved and much of the furnishings/soda fountain booths, stools, and jukeboxes at tables are original, since at least to 50's.
